How text chat works

Open this page, confirm you're 18 or older, and OmegleCom looks for another person who wants to chat. Once you're connected, just type. No camera, no microphone, no account. If the conversation isn't going anywhere, press Skip (or hit Esc twice) and you'll be matched with someone new.

Why pick text over video?

Text chat is lower pressure. You can think before you reply, chat from anywhere without worrying about lighting or background noise, and nobody sees your face. It's also great for practising a language in writing, because you have time to look words up.

Get better matches with interests

Add a few topics in the interest box on the home page before you start. If someone online shares one of your interests, you'll be matched with them first, which makes the first few messages a lot less awkward.

Stay safe in text chat

Text feels anonymous, but the other person can still screenshot everything you write. Don't share your full name, phone number, address, workplace or social media accounts.
